In Nigeria it was the beginning of an era and the year that a Nigerian record label called Twilight Records released a single called "Lamentation for Sodom" by an artiste called Tera Kota.
It was produced and recorded in Lagos by Lemmy Jackson, Nigeria's greatest ever music producer (sorry Don Jazzy) in his prime and supported in the studio by the finest session players in the land. Finishing touches were done in the UK to complete the making of a single that was purely world class. The single was a commercial and critically acclaimed smash hit that paved the way for khaki and boot wearing reggae henchmen like Majek Fashek, Amos McRoy Jegg and Ras Kimono to enjoy mainstream success before the infiltration of dancehall and the absolute takeover of hip-hop in the early nineties.
