Commercial City of Lagos is about to discover oil, and join the league of oil-producing States in Nigeria. There has been evidence of commercial quantities of crude oil along the coastal off shore Dahomey Basin of Lagos.
This was announced yesterday by Afren Plc, and its partners, Lekoil Ltd, through the London Stock Exchange. This discovery is however subject to authentication by the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), the result of which is expected in 14 days time. If positive, Lagos will become the 11th oil-producing State in Nigeria, following Anambra State.
